THE PURPOSE OF THIS PUBLIC NOTICE IS TO DECLARE THE STATE OF UTAH'S INTENTION TO RENEW A UTAH POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM (UPDES) PERMIT UNDER AUTHORITY OF THE UTAH WATER

The Little Mountain Service Area (LMSA) owns and operates a Publicly Owned Treatment Work (POTW) system located at 9800 West 900 South in Ogden, Utah. The facility is located near the
shoreline of the Great Salt Lake. Currently, the POTW is treating domestic wastewater from three local businesses and one residence. The three local businesses are Silver Linings, MJK
Custom Fabrication, and Western Zirconium.
The POTW treatment process includes three biological stabilization ponds, slow sand filtration, and UV disinfection. The design flow of this facility is 0.245 million gallons per day
(MGD). The discharge is to the West Warren Canal, which combines with the Weber River, and then flows to the Great Salt Lake.
While the facility has the ability to discharge, there were no discharges from the lagoon during the previous permit cycle. If the facility plans to discharge in the figure, the Division
of Water Quality’s (DWQ’s) Interim Approach for UPDES Permitting for Discharges to the Great Salt Lake must be adopted and additional monitoring for ammonia (NH3) will be added to this
permit. PUBLIC COMMENTSDuring the public comment period provided under Utah Administrative Code (UAC) R317-8-6.5, any interested person may submit written comments on the draft permit
and may request a public hearing if no hearing has already been scheduled. A request for a public hearing shall be in writing and shall state the nature of the issues proposed to be
raised in the hearing. All comments will be considered in making the final decision and shall be answered as provided in UAC R317-8-6.12. Public comments are invited any time prior to
the deadline of the close of business on MONTHXX, 202X. Written public comments can be submitted to: Jennifer Berjikian, UPDES Individual Permits Section, Utah Division of Water Quality,

revise it, or abandon it. The permit is available for public review under “Public Participation” at www.waterquality.utah.gov/. If internet access is not available, a copy may be obtained
