Underground Injection Control Class III & V Well PermitModification and Renewal
PurposeofPublicNotice
The Utah Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is soliciting comments on the request to modify and renewUndergroundInjectionControl(UIC)ClassIII & VDraftpermitUTU-27AP-718D759 and
UTU-37-AP-1D61E74. Thepermitisissued by the Director of the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) under authority of the Utah Water Quality Act,Section 19-5-106(g) Utah Code Ann. 1953, as
amended and Utah Administrative Code R317-7.UnderSection R317-7-13 the Director of DWQ will investigate and provide written response to all citizencomplaintsduly submitted.Inaddition,theDirectorshallnotopposeinterventioninanyciviloradministrative
proceeding by any citizen where permissive intervention may be authorized by statute orrule. The Director will publish notice of and provide at least thirty (30) days of public comment

ACES I plans to inject, store and withdraw hydrogen from underground storage caverns constructed in a tectonically thickened salt body located approximately 9 miles north of Delta, Utah
in Millard County and at depths greater than 3,000 feet below the surface. The construction of these caverns is permitted by ACES I’s solution mining UIC Class III Permit UTU-27AP-718D759.
The operation of the storage caverns is permited by UIC Class V Permit UTU-27-AP-BDCCF0C. This Permit renewal will adjust permit boundaries and correct language in the permit and Cavern
Development Plan.
