Wash water is obtained from irrigation ditches and is used to clean the gravel. The makeup for the wash water is taken by water right from irrigation ditches. The makeup water then travels through three ponds known as West Pond, Middle Pond and Main Pond. Water is pumped from the main pond to the wash plant. After its use in the wash plant, it is discharged to the first of two settling basins. It is then transferred to a second settling basin.
