considered de minimis and not subject to

Smaller releases that pose a potential threat
to human health or the environment
Spills exceeding 25 gallons, or

Name, title, and phone number of individual reporting

Description contained on manifest and amount released
Cause of release
Possible hazards to human health/environment and
emergency actions taken
Extent of any injuries
Provide the following information when reporting the release:

Granted until the release no longer presents an
immediate hazard to human health/environment
EPA Identification Number
Used Oil Handler’s certificate
Used Oil Transporter permit
Applies to the following requirements:
Granted by the Director
Variance for situations where immediate action is required

9.3 Release Clean Up

The clean up or other required actions shall
be at the expense of the person responsible
for the release
May be required to meet US EPA
Regional Screening Levels
Shall clean up the released
material/residue/contaminated media

9.4 Reporting

Within 15 days after the release, the person responsible for
the material at the time of the release shall submit a
written report to the Director containing:
the person's name, address, and telephone number
date, time, location, and nature of the incident
name and quantity of materials involved
the extent of injuries, if any
an assessment of actual or potential hazards to
human health or the environment
the estimated quantity and disposition of recovered
material that resulted from the incident

Used oils that cannot be recycled and are therefore being disposed

Determine if the used oil is a hazardous waste (listed/characteristic)

Nonhazardous: Disposed in a solid
