Lakewood, CO 80228 RE: Field Inspection and Split Sampling for the 4th Quarter 2023 Groundwater Monitoring Event, Closeout Letter
Energy Fuels Resources (USA), Inc.
Groundwater Discharge Permit No. UGW 370004 Dear Ms. Weinel:
On November 6, 7, and 8, 2023, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division)
completed the field inspection of the 4th Quarter 2023 groundwater monitoring event by Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (EFRI). This inspection also included the collection of split samples by the Division of selected groundwater monitoring wells.
The inspection was based on compliance with the following:
• White Mesa Uranium Mill Ground Water Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Revision 7.6, dated August 8, 2019.
The findings of this inspection and results of the analytical analysis for the Division split samples of the wells will also be included as part of the Division review to complete the inspection for the 4th Quarter 2023 groundwater monitoring report due March 1, 2024.
Based on Division staff observations of EFRI staff performing the sampling and monitoring on
November 6, 7 and 8, 2023, it appears that EFRI staff is in compliance with field sampling requirements in the QAP. This letter constitutes a closeout of the field inspection performed on November 6, 7, and 8, 2023, for the 4th Quarter 2023 groundwater monitoring event.
