Utah Groundwater Discharge Permit No. UGW370004 Dear Ms. Weinel: The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division) has completed review of the Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (EFRI), July 11, 2023, State of Utah Ground Water Discharge Permit No. UGW370004 White Mesa Uranium Mill – Removal of Certain Groundwater Monitoring Parameters from Accelerated Monitoring Status. Per review, EFRI requests that the monitoring well parameter listed on the table below be returned to baseline monitoring: Monitoring Well Parameter Number of Consecutive Sample Results Below the GWCL Baseline Monitoring Frequency MW-11 Total Dissolved Solids 8 Quarterly It was noted per review of groundwater monitoring data, including independent review of laboratory data sheets, that Total Dissolved Solids sample results for MW-11 have been below the permitted Ground Water Compliance Limits (GWCLs) for eight or more consecutive accelerated sampling events. Per past Division protocols, accelerated monitoring may be discontinued if at least eight consecutive samples show concentrations below the GWCL; therefore, the request to return to baseline monitoring for the wells/parameters listed on the table above is hereby approved.
