(EFR), White Mesa Mill, Blanding, Utah Dear Ms. Weinel: The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division) has completed its review of DMT Performance Standards Monitoring Report and Cell 4A and 4B BAT Performance Standards Monitoring Report (DRC-2023-004032) for the 1st Quarter of 2023, dated April 27, 2023, received on May 4, 2023. The Division hereby approves the submission. As discussed on July 27, 2023, the Division is requesting two changes to subsequent reports of this type: 1. Add inspection information for the hydrochloric acid tanks and their containment structures to the report. This information should be similar to those inspection items that are evaluated yearly, such as the oil decontamination pads, used oil and fuel tanks, and the ammonium sulfate pads. Please note when the inspection most recently occurred and when it will occur in the future. Finally, the annual inspection for these occurs in the second quarter, so this 1st quarter report does not need to be resubmitted. 2. Add the elevation of the piezometric contour lines to the piezometric surface maps in Appendix C. The current submission does not need to be updated. (Over) If you have any questions, please call Heather Mickelson at 385-499-4875.
