Hansen Director May 23, 2023 Kathy Weinel, Quality Assurance Manager Energy Fuels Resources (USA), Inc. 225 Union Blvd., Suite 600 Lakewood, CO 80228 RE: The 2023 Annual Seeps and Springs Monitoring Event, Field Inspection and Split Sampling, Closeout Letter, Groundwater Quality Discharge Permit Number UGW370004 Dear Ms. Weinel: On May 16, 2023, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division) completed the field inspection of the 2023 Annual Seeps and Springs Monitoring Event by Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (EFRI). This inspection also included the collection of a split sample of the Entrance Spring. The inspection was based on compliance with the following: 1. White Mesa Uranium Mill Groundwater Quality Assurance Plan (QAP). Revision 7.6, dated September 10, 2019. 2. Groundwater Discharge Permit No. UGW370004 (Permit), dated March 8, 2021. 3. Sampling Plan for Seeps and Springs in the Vicinity of the White Mesa Uranium Mill. Revision 2. July 8, 2016 (Sampling Plan). The findings of this inspection and results of the analytical analysis for the Division split sample of Entrance Spring will also be included as part of the review to complete the inspection for the Annual 2023 Seeps and Springs Monitoring Report. Based on Division staff observation of EFRI staff performing the sampling and monitoring on May 16, 2023, it appears that EFRI staff is in compliance with field sampling requirements in the Permit, QAP and Sampling Plan.
