Dear Mr. Bleak:
On April 24, 2023, the Division completed the Anfield Resources Holding Corp. Shootaring Canyon Uranium Mill field inspection of the 2nd Quarter 2023. This inspection also included the collection of a split samples by the Division of selected groundwater monitoring wells.
The inspection was based on compliance with the:
• Shootaring Canyon Groundwater Monitoring Quality Assurance Plan (“QAP”), Original
Prepared by Frank Environmental Services, August 22, 2006, Update Provided by Anfield
Resources Inc. Prepared by Wright Environmental Services, July 17, 2019.
• Utah Ground Water Discharge Permit UGW170003 (“Permit”), December 10, 2007, Anfield Resources Inc. Shootaring Canyon Uranium Facility.
The findings of this inspection and results of the analytical analysis for the Division split samples of the wells will also be included as part of the Division review to complete the inspection for this monitoring event in the 1st Half (January – June) 2023 Groundwater Monitoring Report due August 10, 2023.
Based on Division staff observations of Anfield staff performing the sampling and monitoring on April 24, 2023, it appears that the staff follows field sampling requirements in the QAP and Permit. This
letter constitutes a closeout of the field inspection performed on April 24, 2023, for the 2nd Quarter
2023 groundwater monitoring event. If you have any questions, please contact Dean Henderson at (385) 499 4443.
