RE: Field Inspection for the 4th Quarter 2022 Nitrate Monitoring Event, Closeout Letter,
Energy Fuels Resources (USA), Inc.
Dear Ms. Weinel:
On October 25 and 26, 2022, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division)
completed the field inspection of the 4th Quarter 2022 nitrate monitoring event by Energy Fuels
Resources (USA) Inc. (EFRI). This inspection also included the collection of a split samples by the
Division of selected groundwater monitoring wells.
The inspection was based on compliance with the:
• White Mesa Uranium Mill Groundwater Quality Assurance Plan (“QAP”). Revision 7.5,
dated June 5, 2019.
The findings of this inspection and results of the analytical analysis for the Division split samples of the
wells will also be included as part of the Division review to complete the inspection for the
4th Quarter 2022 nitrate monitoring report due March 1, 2023.
Based on Division staff observations of EFRI staff performing the sampling and monitoring on
October 25 and 26, 2022, it appears that EFRI staff is in compliance with field sampling requirements in
the QAP. This letter constitutes a closeout of the field inspection performed on October 25
and 26, 2022, for the 4th Quarter 2022 Nitrate Monitoring Event.
