License Condition Number 9.7 - Cell 4B Archaeological Clearance
Dear Mr. Finerfrock:
In accordance with State of Utah 11e.(2) Radioactive Material License # UT1900479, License condition number
9.7, Denison Mines (USA) Corp. ("DUSA") contracted with Abajo Archaeology to conduct initial field
investigations, prepare the Research Design Plan for mitigating adverse impacts on archaeological sites due to
the construction of Cell 4B, and conduct field activities in accordance with the approved Research Design.
DUSA required that Abajo Archaeology conduct the field work in full compliance with the Research Design Plan
approved by the State of Utah Historic Preservation Office. The Research Design used the initial field testing
results to outline a data recovery plan for the historic sites in the proposed Cell 4B project area. The Research
Design was submitted to the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Radiation Control ("DRC"),
which in turn submitted the report to the Utah State Historic Preservation Office. Abajo Archaeology also
tendered a copy for review to the Utah Public Lands Policy Coordination Office, and the Edge of the Cedars
Museum, Blanding, Utah.
In addition to the Research Design and field work, DUSA has required Abajo Archaeology to prepare a final
report upon completion of the field work, detailing all the work activities and the information recovered. This
final report is expected to be complete by July 31,2011, due to extended time periods required for out of house

sample analysis, and laboratory back log. DUSA has also required that all artifacts and other materials
recovered with the project be under the control and care of Abajo Archaeology at all times and eventually be
curated at the Edge of the Cedars State Museum in Blanding, Utah. To that end, artifacts will be packaged in
appropriate archival housing at the time of cataloging.
