(EFRI) Radioactive Material License (RML) UT1900479 Dear Mr. Frydenlund: In a letter dated May 26, 2017 to the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control, Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (EFRI) described an additional CaF2 (referred in the EFRI letter as bagged CaF2 material) material. EFRI explained that it was their intent to accept this material under currently approved License Condition 10.7 and to process it at the White Mesa Uranium Mill. EFRI made the justification that it can accept this bagged CaF2 material under License Condition 10.7 because it comes from the same process that produces the CaF2 material that has already been accepted and processed at the Mill. EFRI indicated that the CaF2 material would be transferred between the Honeywell facility and the White Mesa Mill using Super Sacs instead of drums. The difference is that the bagged CaF2 material is lower in uranium concentration and it has a higher moisture content than the original CaF2 material. The Division has evaluated the information provided by EFRI regarding this request and concurs that the bagged CaF2 material can be accepted under the currently approved License Condition 10.7, subject to the following provisions: 1. The Super Sacs or equivalent shall meet the packaging requirements for LSA material found in 10CFR71and 49CFR173.427. 2. The Super Sacs or equivalent shall be transported to the White Mesa Mill in an enclosed conveyance. (over) 3. EFRI shall provide a 60-day notice of the first shipment. The Division will inspect compliance aspects of this project during future inspections at the White Mesa Mill. If you have any questions please call Ryan Johnson at (801) 536-4255. Sincerely, Scott T. Anderson, Director Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control STA/RMJ/jr
