Re: White Mesa Uranium Mill; Radioactive Materials License No. UT1900479 - Safety and
Environmental Review Panel ("SERF") 2008 Annual Report.
Dear Mr. Frydenlund:
The Division of Radiation Control (DRC) has reviewed the 2008 Annual SERF Report submitted
by you on March 31, 2009. The report was a summarization of four (4) evaluations by the SERF
pursuant to License Condition 9.4 during 2008. The report, as explained in your letter, had been
sent subsequent to the deadline set forth in the Mill's SERF Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
As noted, the DRC acknowledges your explanation for the oversight.
The items listed in the report, 2008-01, SX Organic Reconditioning Process; 2008-02, Access
Control and Personnel Scanning; 2008-03, In-situ leach (ISL) Byproduct Material Disposal; and
2008-04, Changes to the Mill's SOP PBL-7, have been appropriately reviewed by the SERF and
meet the requirements of License Condition 9.4.
