Findings and Closeout
Dear Ms. Weinel:
On November, 2014, the Utah Division of Radiation Control (DRC) conducted an inspection of
the records of disposal operations for 1 le.(2) byproduct material for the calendar year 2014.
The inspection performed on the above referenced date did not reveal incidents of noncompliance
with either the RML or Standard Operating Procedure No. PBL-10 (the SOP). However, the
incorrect revision of the SOP was being used by field crews even though the SOP manual
contained the correct revision. To help assure use of the correct revision going forward, EFR
proposed Revision 3.3 to the SOP, adding an annual training element for field crews.
In consideration of the findings enumerated above, the inspection conducted on November 13,
2014 is hereby closed. The Director also approves Revision 3.3 to Procedure PBL-10. If you
