Subject: Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. November 13,2013 Letter Requesting
Removal of Certain Groundwater Monitoring Parameters from Accelerated Status:
DRC Approval |
Dear Ms. Tischler: !
This is in response to your letter dated November 13,2013 which requests that the following
baseline monitoring frequency: wells/parameters be returned to
MW-25 Uranium
MW-30 Uranium
MW-35 Molybdenum
MW-12 Field pH
MW-18 Field pH
MW-27 Field pH
MW-29 Iron
The November 13, 2013 reques t is based on the most recent laboratory results for these
wells/parameters showing results less than the Ground Water Compliance Limits (GWCL's) listed
in the White Mesa Uranium Mill Facility Ground Water Discharge Permit, Permit No.
UGW370004 (Permit),sfor more than eight consecutive monitoring events. DUSA notes that per
DRC letters dated May 30, 200to, October 31, 2011 and April 25, 2012 "eight consecutive sample
results below the GWCL are neededfor the discontinuance of accelerated monitoring"
I
Per DRC review of the laboratory results it was noted that the requested wells/parameters showed
more than eight consecutive monthly laboratory results below the GWCL's as follows:
Monitoring Well No. Parameter # Consecutive Lab Results below the GWCL
MW-25 Uranium 10 - December 2012 through September 2013
MW-30 Uranium 8 - 1st 2013 through September 2013

DRC also notes that laboratory analytical packets (Uranium and Iron Samples) and sample
collection field sheets (Field pH) were included with the November 13,2013 letter, to provide
data results which have not been received by DRC in submitted quarterly ground water reports.
Based on DRC review of the November 13,2013 letter the following wells/parameters are
authorized to be returned to basjeline monitoring frequency as follows:
Well Number Parameter Baseline Monitoring Frequency
(Permit Part LE.l.b)
MW-25 Uranium Quarterly
MW-30 Uranium Quarterly
MW-35 Molybdenum Quarterly
MW-12 Field pH Semi-Annual
MW-18 Field pH Semi-Annual
MW-27 Field pH Semi-Annual
MW-29 Iron Semi-Annual
Note that these wells/parameters are subject to future accelerated monitoring requirements per the
requirements of the Permit Part I.G.
