RE: The 2020 Annual Seeps and Springs Monitoring Event, Closeout Letter, Ground Water Quality Discharge Permit Number UGW370004 Dear Ms. Weinel:
On June 16, 2020, the Utah Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (“Division”) completed the field inspection of the 2020 Annual Seeps and Springs Monitoring Event by Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (“EFR”). This inspection also included the collection of a split sample by the
Division of Entrance Spring and Westwater Spring.
The inspection was based on compliance with the following: 1. White Mesa Uranium Mill Ground Water Quality Assurance Plan (“QAP”). Revision 7.5, dated June 5, 2019.
2. Groundwater Discharge Permit No. UGW370004 (“Permit”), dated March 19, 2019. 3. Sampling Plan for Seeps and Springs In the Vicinity of the White Mesa Uranium Mill. Revision 2, dated July 8, 2016 (“Sampling Plan”).
The findings of this inspection and results of the analytical analysis for the Division split sample of
Entrance Spring and Westwater Spring will also be included as part of the review to complete the inspection for the Annual Seeps and Springs Monitoring Report due on December 1, 2020. Based on Division staff observation of EFR staff performing the sampling and monitoring on June 16, 2020, it appears that EFR staff is in compliance with field sampling requirements in the Permit, QAP and Sampling Plan. This letter constitutes a closeout of the June 16, 2020 Annual Seeps and
Springs Monitoring Event. (Over)
