Dear Ms. Weinel: On November 10 and 11, 2020, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (“Division”) completed the field inspection of the 4th Quarter 2020 Chloroform Monitoring Event by Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (“EFR”). This inspection also included the collection of a split sampling by the Division of selected chloroform monitoring wells. The inspection was based on compliance with the following: • White Mesa Uranium Mill Ground Water Quality Assurance Plan (“QAP”). Revision 7.5, dated June 5, 2019. • Groundwater Corrective Action Plan for Nitrate White Mesa Uranium Mill near Blanding Utah (“GCAP’), Revision 0, dated September 14, 2015. The findings of this inspection and results of the analytical analysis for the Division split samples of the wells will also be included as part of the review to complete the inspection for the 4th Quarter 2020 chloroform monitoring report due March 1, 2021. Based on Division staff observation of EFR staff performing the sampling and monitoring on November 10 and 11, 2020, it appears that EFR staff is in compliance with field sampling requirements in the QAP and GCAP. This letter constitutes a closeout of the field inspection on November 10 and 11, 2020, for the 4th Quarter 2020 chloroform Monitoring Event.
