Sampling Notice for the Radon Flux Measurements for Tailings Impoundment 2 at the White Mesa Mill Dear Mr. Anderson: VIA EMAIL AND OVERNIGHT DELIVERY February 2, 2018 Mr. Scott Anderson Director Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control Pursuant to the letter from the Utah Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (“DWMRC”) dated, July 23, 2014, Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (“EFRI”) is required to measure radon flux at Tailings Impoundment 2 (“Cell 2”) at the White Mesa Mill (the “Mill”) semi-annually in accordance with 40 CFR 61, Appendix B, Method 115. EFRI is providing 30 day notice to DWMRC that the semi-annual sampling event for the first half of 2018 for Cell 2 will be conducted at the Mill from March 24 - 27, 2018. The measured results will be included in the January through June 2018 Semi-Annual Effluent Report, due September 1, 2018. Tellco Environmental of Grand Junction, Colorado will perform approximately 100 measurements on the cover area of Cell 2 during the sampling event. Provided that there are no rainouts or events that require remobilization or a delay in measurement, the sampling event is expected to conclude on March 27, 2018. EFRI will provide safety and radiological orientation for any DWMRC personnel observing this event. This orientation will be required before any individual enters the Mill Restricted Area. Individuals monitoring this event should bring their own mandatory Personnel Protective Equipment as required at the Mill, specifically, safety glasses, hardhats, and steel-toed shoes.
