May 10, 2017, Transmittal of Plan and Time Schedule Groundwater Discharge Permit No. UGW370004 (Permit) Dear Ms. Weinel: The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control has completed its review of the Energy Fuels Resources (EFR) March 10, 2017 Transmittal of Plan and Time Schedule under Utah Ground Water Discharge Permit UGW370004 Part I.G.4(c) White Mesa Mill (EFR Plan). The EFR Plan addresses exceedances of Ground Water Compliance Limits (GWCLs) for selenium, sulfate and uranium in monitoring well MW-31. Monitoring Well MW-31 is in out-of-compliance status for the listed parameters in accordance with the Permit Part I.G.2. These parameters are required to undergo corrective action as specified in the Permit Part I.G.4. The table below summarizes the preliminary findings in the EFR Plan: Monitoring Well Parameter EFR Noted Preliminary Findings MW-31 Selenium • Statistically significant increasing trend was previously identified. • Potentially impacted by decreasing pH trend. Sulfate • Statistically significant increasing trend was previously identified. • Potentially impacted by location of MW-31 at the margin of the nitrate/chloride plume.
