RE: Energy Fuels Resources November 14, 2016 White Mesa Uranium Mill Abandonment Plan for MW-3
Utah Groundwater Discharge Permit No. UGW370004
Dear Ms. Weinel:
The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control has completed its review of the Energy Fuels
Resources (USA) Inc. (EFR) White Mesa Uranium Mill Abandonment Plan for MW-3 (Abandonment Plan) dated
November 14, 2016. The Abandonment Plan was submitted in response to the Division’s November 8, 2016
letter.
Based on review of the Abandonment Plan, it appears that the abandonment of monitoring well MW-3 will be
conducted according to requirements in Utah Administrative Code R655-4-14.8 and R655-4-14.10 and will be
conducted as soon as possible after receipt of this approval. In accordance with the Abandonment Plan, EFR is
required to provide notice to the Division 14 days prior to abandonment activities. EFR is also required to
provide the driller’s report and a letter report within 60 days after completion of the abandonment activities.
Based on the review, the Abandonment Plan is hereby approved.
If you have any questions, please call Tom Rushing at (801) 536-0080.
Sincerely,
Scott T. Anderson, Director
Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control
