Water Quality Discharge Permit UGW370004: Approval of Phase 2 Construction
and As-Built Drawings
Dear Ms. Weinel:
On October 16, 2014 the Utah Division of Radiation Control (DRC) approved drawings for a
concrete cover to prevent water from penetrating to nitrate-contaminated soils immediately east of
the main mill building. Those plans did not address the area immediately under the ammonium
sulfate crystal tanks; therefore, Energy Fuels submitted additional drawings that the DRC
approved on March 23, 20 I 5 (The approval letter bears the date May 23 , 23015.). The DRC
received as-built drawings on May 4. 2015 and inspected the construction on June 16, 2015 . The
concrete placed appears to satisfy the specifications detailed in the approved plans. Furthermore,
the as-built plans appear faithfully to ret1ect the construction completed to date. The construction
and the as-built plans are, therefore, approved.
