Subject: Compliance: Response to Action Plan for Roberts Pond Cleanup: Ground Water Quality
Discharge Permit UGW370004: Approval
Dear Ms. Weinel:
On May 13, 2014, the Utah Division of Radiation Control (DRC) received the Action Plan for
Roberts Pond Liner Damage. Staff at the Division of Radiation Control has reviewed the
proposed action plan and has no objection. Therefore, the action plan is approved.
During a conference call between DRC staff and representatives of EFR on June 12, 2014, EFR
informed the DRC that decisions regarding relining or abandonment of Roberts Pond would
follow the cleanup. What EFR learns during cleanup of the contamination will have a bearing on
the ultimate fate of the pond.
Please notify the DRC as soon as a schedule is established for the remediation.
If you have any questions please contact at Russ Topham at (801) 536-4256.
Sincerely,
Rusty Lundberg
Director
