On Apnl 25, 2012 the Utah Division of Radiation Control (DRC) received through email a single-sheet as-
built plan for new concrete pads for drum management at the Altemate Feed Area at the DUSA White
Mesa Uramum Mill, near Blanding, Utah The pads were designed and constmcted to address a portion of
the September 1, 2011 DRC Request for Information and Confirmatory Action Letter, Storm water
Inspection
DRC imderstands the project to include placement of concrete flatwork as a management surface for dmms
of feedstock The pads include low-profile rolled curb at the penphery to provide matenal containment for
spills that may occur The pads slope to existing dram sumps, thus preventmg spilled feedstock matenal
from washing onto surrounding soils Dunng a visit to the site on Apnl 12, 2012, DRC Staff observed the
pad constmction in process, notmg compliance with the design plan approved in the DRC letter dated Apnl
9, 2012
DRC has reviewed the subnutted plan for conformance with the intent of Part 1D 11 of the White Mesa
Uramum Mill Ground Water Discharge Permit No UGW370004 (Permit) and finds the plan to comply
with this Permit requirement and the conditions of approval extended m the September 20, 2011
Conditional Approval Letter Therefore, the as-built plan is hereby approved With this approval, DUSA
may place the pads into service
