Re: White Mesa Uranium Mill; Radioactive Materials License No. UT1900479 - Safety and
Environmental Review Panel (SERF) 2009 Annual Report.
Dear Ms. Tischler,
The Division of Radiation Control (DRC) has reviewed the 2009 Annual SERF Report submitted
by you on March 29, 2009. The report was a summarization of four (4) evaluations by the SERF
pursuant to License Condition 9.4 during 2009. The report had been sent subsequent to the
deadline set forth in the Mill's SERF Standard Operating Procedure (SOF), PBL-1, Rev. No. R-4,
which requires that the report be furnished to the Executive Secretary, "On an annual basis, within
sixty (60) days after the calendar year end..." The DRC requests that future SERF reports be
submitted in a timely manner.
The items listed in the report, 2009-01, Construction and Use of New Altemate Feed Circuit;
2009-02, SOF's for UF4 Processing; 2009-03, Updates to SOF for UF4 Processing; and 2009-04,
Review and approval of New Decontamination Fad, have been appropriately reviewed by the
SERF and meet the requirements of License Condition 9.4.
