INCIDENT SUMMARY
The site location is being redeveloped. On February 2nd, the contractors were placing geopiers for new construction, and one of the piers went through
a void and then water came out. Work was stopped, and the location was excavated. The excavation revealed a tank that was previously unknown.
The contractor (Strategic Builders) has removed the tank and should have tank closure details.
Samples were collected from the tank location on February 6th. Those results arrived February 8th confirming the presence of diesel at the site. The
reporting party went to the site today, and was able to collect additional samples from the over-excavation, and look at groundwater that was 2-3 feet
below the tank. The groundwater smelled of petroleum and had a visible sheen. Results from the new samples will be received by the reporting party
on February 13.
The previous business at the site was a Wonder Bread factory. Other tanks at the site were removed during demolition- the reporting party believes
this occurred in 2016. This tank appears to have been missed during that demolition.
