RE: Radioactive Materials License No. UT 2300249, License Condition 16 F.i., Non-aqueous Liquid Waste Stream 9061-36.
Dear Mr. Gurr:
The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (the Division) has received your request for approval of Waste Stream 9061-36 for management at your Mixed Waste Facility. The
request for approval of this waste stream was received by the Division in EnergySolutions’ letter CD-2024-068.
Waste Stream 9061-36 consists of lab packed DOT Class 2.1 (flammable aerosols) wastegenerated as a result of waste collection activities such as laboratory clean-outs, excesschemicals,
and plant housekeeping.EnergySolutions will treatthis waste by thermal desorption (VTD) at the Clive Mixed Waste Facility to meet the treatmentstandards described in Utah Rule R315-268.Your
CD-2024-068 letter includes the completed Radioactive Waste Profile Record and confirms waste stream9061-36 to be within Class A limits as defined by Utah Rule R313-15-1009.
The Licensee may receive and manage the above waste stream provided the waste is received, treated and disposed in accordance with your RCRA Part B Permit and Radioactive Material License
