Dear Mr. Downey:
The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division) has completed its review of the “Additional Investigation Work Plan - Arms Technology East Shop” (Report) that was submitted
on April9, 2024, by Wasatch Environmental, Inc. on behalf of ATI Corporation for the Site located at 1142 South 2475 West in Salt Lake City, Utah (Site).
After review, the Division concurs with the proposed additional investigation efforts outlined in the Report to further investigate the nature and extent of Contaminants of Concern (COC)
and evaluate the potential impactto on-Site workers.
The Report indicates that the source of on-Site COCs is likely migratory from an off-site source. The Report also indicates that the Division has determined that no further sampling
was required to evaluate the two sumps identified on-Site.It should be noted, the Division does not exclude the possibility that COCs at the Site may be from an on-Site source and that
further investigation of potential on-Site sources and pathways may be necessary in the future.
The Division has no comments or questions concerning thisReport. The Report is hereby approved.
