RE:Class 2 Modification Approval – Incineration ChemistryUTD981552177
Dear Mr. Simmons:
On May 19, 2023, Clean Harbors Aragonite (Aragonite) submitted a Class 2 modification request seeking approval to make certain changes to the permit in how the incineration chemistry
is determined for certain waste types. Specifically, Aragonite requested the Waste Analysis Plan be modified to allow consolidation containers from DOT hazard classes 2.2 and 4.2 and
lab packs from DOT hazard classes 4.2 and 4.3to use incineration chemistry matrixes created from summary analytical data submitted with the modification request. Aragonite also requested
the ability to develop incineration chemistry matrixes, organized by DOT hazard class, for routine wastes received at the facility in containers equal to or less than five gallons in
volume.
The modification request, and responses to inquiries from the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control, have been reviewed, and as provided by this notice, the modification
request is approved as enclosed.
Aragonite should update its copy of the permit by making the following changes:
Replace Attachment 1 –Waste Analysis Plan with the enclosed copy.
Replace Attachment 8 – Waste Storage, Processing, and Tracking with the enclosed copy.
Also enclosed is an updated copy of the List of Permit Revisions.
