RE: Engineering Module 73, Inspection of Disposal of Bulk Byproduct Material
Radioactive Material License Number UT UT1900479
Dear Ms. Weinel:
On August 24, 2016, an inspection was conducted at the White Mesa Uranium Mill near Blanding,
Utah by a representative of the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control. Results of the
inspection were discussed with plant management at the conclusion of the inspection.
The inspection was an examination of the activities conducted at the Mill as they relate to compliance
with the Utah Radiation Control Rules and the conditions of the license. The inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews of personnel, independent
measurements and observations by the inspector.
Based on the findings documented during the inspection, the items reviewed were found to be in
compliance with the Utah Radiation Control Rules and requirements for this license.
If you have any questions, please call Russ Topham at (801) 536-4256.
Sincerely,
Scott T. Anderson, Director Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control
