Fors) ARRIVAL TIME: 9:00 AM - DEPARTURE TIME: 10:00 AM Split Samples Collected: NA Is the work being performed in a manner consistent with the accepted workplan? NA Summary: A site walkthrough was conducted following the signing of the Voluntary Cleanup Agreement. The visit aimed to inspect the buildings, identify notable features, and locate previous and proposed boring sites. Mr. Axel Fors, the current property owner, provided access and historical information. The business is currently inactive. The Site comprises of three buildings and a central asphalt area. Mr. Fors confirmed that all three buildings were used as a machine shop by A.W. Fors, with no manufacturing. The northernmost building, partially constructed in the 1980s, is divided by an east-to-west wall. Both sections contain large equipment and overhead cranes. Each side has drains with grates leading to a grease trap located under the office stairs, which is inaccessible for drilling. Two subgrade concrete boxes, reportedly for metal presses, were empty and boarded during the visit. Minor staining was observed near the equipment, but the concrete flooring showed few cracks. The owner stated that the primary operations involved industrial machine part repair (not manufacturing), including cutting, welding, and fabrication, and that oil cutting oils were used. Outside, surface staining was visible near GP-5, where used oil was stored. One unmarked drum and other equipment were in this area. While aerial photographs show darker asphalt areas outside, no significant staining was observed during the visit, suggesting this was likely water. To the southeast, more drums and equipment were seen. The drums and wooden pallet appeared stained, but the lack of asphalt staining suggests they were moved from another location. A drain in this area, with a pipe from the north, was identified by Mr. Fors as abandoned, previously connecting to an off-site grease trap to the east, near the current escape room building. The central building also served as a machine shop and houses equipment. It has two rooms separated by an interior door. In the western room, surface staining was observed near an air compressor, but no floor cracks were present. The eastern room contains a floor drain and a sump, with a pipe leading south, believed to connect to the off-site grease trap. The southern building is divided into two rooms with separate exterior entrances. Mr. Fors stated that an independent mechanic and a battery shop (for 3-4 years) previously owned the building before A.W. Fors purchased it for machine repair and storage. In the eastern room, some staining was observed on the interior walls and limited floor areas. The western room has a concrete- covered sump, which Mr. Fors indicated was used before A.W. Fors acquired the property. Cracking was noted in the floor near the sump. Blake Downey reported that limited access during the first two subsurface investigations prevented sample collection near this sump. Some potential staining was present just outside the southern building, with several 5-gallon buckets and 55-gallon drums nearby. A 275+ gallon shipping tote, seemingly empty, was also located on the eastern side of the site. PHOTO LOG: Subgrade concrete box, reportedly for a metal press.
