Subject: Action Level Exceedance for Lead – Hidden Hollow Water Company - UTAH15041
Jamie Grandpre:
According to water sampling results submitted to the Division of Drinking Water (DDW), Eden Ranch has exceeded the action level for lead. The lead action level is exceeded if the 90th percentile concentration is greater than 0.015 mg/L according to R309-200-5(2). The 90th percentile for the system’s lead sample results was 0.0179 mg/L.
Based on this action level exceedance, the system is required to do the following: 1. Public Notice:
The system has completed this requirement by distributing a DDW-approved public notice system wide on August 28th, 2025, which informed residents what happened, when the action level exceedance occurred, the health effects of lead, whether alternative water supplies should be used, what actions consumers should take, what the system is doing to address the lead action level exceedance, when the system expects to resolve the exceedance, and provided contact
information for the water system. 2. Stay on Increased Monitoring for Lead and Copper:
Your system is required to collect five Lead and Copper samples every six months. The next
round of samples must be collected by June 30, 2026. If results from two consecutive six-month monitoring periods are below the action levels, your system may be eligible to move to a reduced monitoring schedule (either annual or once every three years). 3. Monitor for Water Quality Parameters

September 24, 2025 Your system is now required to collect two Water Quality Parameter Samples (WQP) from one site in the distribution system every six months. This site does not necessarily need to be a site
targeted for lead and copper sampling. It doesn’t need to be collected from a kitchen or bathroom sink within a single-family residence. It can be collected from a total coliform sample site in the distribution system. The water quality parameters consist of: pH, alkalinity, calcium, conductivity, and temperature. Please note pH and temperature should be measured in the field
while alkalinity, calcium, and conductivity samples need to be processed by a certified
laboratory. 4. Monitoring at the Entry Point(s): Your system is now required to sample for lead and copper, as well as the Water Quality
Parameters (WQP), at each entry point to the distribution system by June 30, 2026. These water quality parameters are the same as what is required in the distribution system: pH, alkalinity, calcium, conductivity, and temperature.
5. Submit your system’s current Lead/Copper sample site plan.
Complete and submit a lead and copper sample site plan to the Division by December 31, 2025. A template for the sample site plan is attached. This Action Level Exceedance for Lead is not a violation. There are no Improvement Priority
System (IPS) points associated with the exceedance; however, if your system fails to complete any of the requirements listed above that were triggered from the action level exceedance, a violation with its associated IPS points will be applied to the system’s IPS report.
