Dear Mayor Johnson:
The Division of Environmental Response and Remediation (DERR) has received your
request for a Petroleum Eligibility Determination for the above-referenced site in an email dated
October 8, 2024. This eligibility determination is required to evaluate whether Brownfield grant
funding may be allocated to the site.
The DERR has reviewed our records and does not have any registered petroleum storage
tanks (PSTs) on the property and has not issued any orders regarding the site. The DERR recently
assigned a Facility Identification Number 0100727 to the property as a historic PST facility. The
site does not have any known releases. At this time, it is unknown if there are any PSTs remaining;
an environmental site assessment is needed by the Town prior to the acquisition.
Based on the information provided by the Town of Paradise, the DERR does not consider
the Town of Paradise to be a responsible party for the site and that the site is eligible for Brownfield
grant funding.
