In accordance with Condition 12.e.i in Attachment II-1-10, Management of Waste Containing Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) at
the Mixed Waste Facility, of the state-issued Part B Permit, EnergySolutions is required to notify the DWMRC of any PCB detections
from soil monitoring events. Attached is the laboratory analytical report from the first semi-annual soil sampling event in 2025
(collected on June 10, 2025). Summary tables of this data and of all historical data is also attached.
There were 6 stations that had detectable PCBs, and 3 of those stations had a quantifiable concentration of PCBs. A summary of these
detections is as follows:
Station 24 (NNE of MW) had non-quantifiable PCB detections of Aroclors 1248, 1254, and 1260.
These detections are slightly elevated, but similar to those seen at this location in previous years.
Station 24-R (NNE of MW- new location for Station 24 due to 2024 Pond) had non-quantifiable PCB
detections of Aroclors 1248, 1254, and 1260.These detections are slightly elevated, but similar to
Station 24. Relocation of Soil Station 24 was submitted in a letter dated June 6, 2025 to the Division
(CD-2025-119). Relocation was due to Construction of the 2024 Evaporation Pond.
Station 26 (NE of MWOB)- had a quantifiable PCB detection of Aroclor 1254 and non-quantifiable
PCB detections of Aroclors 1248 and 1260. These detections are slightly elevated, but similar to those
seen at this location in previous years, the contamination does not appear to be increasing above
previous years.
Station 27 (located SE of the MWOB) had a quantifiable PCB detections of Aroclors 1248, 1254, and
1260. These detections are slightly elevated, but similar to those seen at this location in previous years,
the contamination does not appear to be significantly increasing above previous years.
Station 28 (South of MW) had a quantifiable PCB detection of Aroclor 1248 and non-quantifiable
PCB detections of Aroclors 1254 and 1260. These detections are similar to those seen at this location
in previous years, the contamination does not appear to be increasing.
Station 77 (West of LLRW Ops Building) had non-quantifiable PCB detections of Aroclors 1254 and
1260. These detections are slightly elevated, but similar to those seen at this location in previous years.
Although slight PCB contamination is noted, the detections are all minimal; orders of magnitude below the regulatory threshold level
for PCB contamination (50 mg/kg). All stations will continue to be examined closely in future events for trends, positive and
negative. Further details will be reported in the annual report that will be provided by March 31, 2026. Additionally, the Final Data
Packages for this 1st Semi Annual PCB Soil Sampling will be emailed to the Division once they report from the 3rd Party Laboratory.

RPD of sample and duplicate evaluated using +/-RL. Concentrations are <5X the RL. Qualifier Not Applicable for Radiochemistry.
Results are reported from a diluted aliquot of the sample
RPD or %Recovery limits do not apply.
Analyte concentration is not detected above the detection limit

QC Samples were not spiked with this compound
Presumptive evidence based on mass spectral library search to make a tentative identification of the analyte (TIC). Quantitation is based on nearest
internal standard response factor
Analyte does not meet the Ion Abundance Ratio and should be considered an estimated concentration.

Subaliquot was taken. See Case Narrative for details.
N/A indicates that spike recovery limits do not apply when sample concentration exceeds spike conc. by a factor of 4 or more or %RPD not applicable.
^ The Relative Percent Difference (RPD) obtained from the sample duplicate (DUP) is evaluated against the acceptance criteria when the sample is greater than
five times (5X) the contract required detection limit (RL). In cases where either the sample or duplicate value is less than 5X the RL, a control limit of +/- the
RL is used to evaluate the DUP result.
* Indicates that a Quality Control parameter was not within specifications.
For PS, PSD, and SDILT results, the values listed are the measured amounts, not final concentrations.
Where the analytical method has been performed under NELAP certification, the analysis has met all of the
requirements of the NELAC standard unless qualified on the QC Summary.

The samples in this SDG were analyzed on an "as received" basis.
Data Summary:
All sample data provided in this report met the acceptance criteria specified in the analytical methods and procedures
for initial calibration, continuing calibration, instrument controls and process controls where applicable, with the
following exceptions.
Calibration Information
Continuing Calibration Verification (CCV) Requirements
The calibration verification standards(ICV or CCV) did not meet acceptance criteria with a positive bias. As there
were no target analytes detected above the PQL in the associated environmental samples , the sample results were not
adversely affected.
Quality Control (QC) Information
Laboratory Control Sample (LCS/LCSD) Recovery
The LCS spike recovery was below the acceptance limits on one analytical column while was within the acceptance

limits on the other column. This non-compliance had no adverse effects on the samples that were reported in this
batch as the samples were not detected with any of the target analytes above the PQL.

Technical Information
Preparation/Analytical Method Verification
Samples and the associated QC samples in this batch were cleaned using alumina in order to remove oil and other
high molecular weight interferences.
Samples and QC in this batch were cleaned with activated copper in order to remove sulfur.
All reported analyte detections in client and quality control samples were within the established retention time
windows. Reported analyte concentrations were confirmed on dissimilar columns.
Sample Re-extraction/Re-analysis
Samples 728861011 (25SA1 S-27 289.0 061025-11) and 728861012 (25SA1 S-26 255.6 061025-12) were
re-extracted because the LCS spike recovery was below the acceptance limits on one analytical column and samples
728861011 (25SA1 S-27 289.0 061025-11) and 728861012 (25SA1 S-26 255.6 061025-12) were detected with
PCBs above the PQL.
