LOTS 146A AND 146B WILL BE LOCATED AT AN ELEVATION THAT WON'T MEET THE MINIMUM WATER
PRESSURE REQUIREMENTS OF R309-105-9. THEREFORE AN EXCEPTION IS REQUESTED TO
R309-105-9(3), R309-540-5(4)(C) AND R309-550-11(3) FOR INDIVIDUAL HOME BOOSTER PUMP
SYSTEMS.
FINAL DESIGN OF THESE SYSTEMS SHALL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
1. A 2 INCH METERED CONNECTION LINE WILL DELIVER WATER TO AN INTERIM TANK
2. INTERIM TANK SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PUBLIC WATER SYSTEMS INCLUDING HATCH,
OVERFLOW, AIR VENT, AND BE NSF APPROVED
3. AN 18 INCH "AIR BREAK" SEPARATION SHALL EXIST AT TANK INLET.
4. A DOUBLE CHECK BACKFLOW ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO INLET INTO WATER TANK(S).
5. BOOSTER PUMP(S) TO MEET THE REQUIRED DEMANDS OF THE RESIDENCE.
6. SHEETS C2, M1 AND M2 SHOW DETAILS OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM.
7. SYSTEMS SHALL ALSO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF MOUNTAIN REGIONAL WATER AND THE UTAH
DIVISION OF DRINKING WATER AS OUTLINED BELOW:
MOUNTAIN REGIONAL WATER REQUIREMENTS:
1. MRW WILL HAVE OWNERSHIP UP TO AND INCLUDING THE METER PRIOR TO THE INTERIM WATER
TANKS. HOME OWNER WILL HAVE OWNERSHIP OF THE INTERIM TANK AND BOOSTER PUMP STATION
FACILITY AND ALL INCLUDED EQUIPMENT.
2. INTERIM WATER TANKS, BACKFLOW ASSEMBLY, AND BOOSTER PUMP SYSTEM SHALL BE INCLUDED
IN A MRW CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL PROGRAM AND INVENTORY, WITH SIGNED AGREEMENTS
WITH EACH PROPERTY OWNER TO CONDUCT ROUTINE INSPECTIONS OF TANKS AND EACH CONNECTION
TO ENSURE THE "AIR BREAK" BETWEEN INLET PIPE AND OVERFLOW PIPE EXISTS EFFECTIVELY AND THE
CONDITION OF THE TANK, LID, AIR VENT, AND OVERFLOW SCREEN IS ACCEPTABLE.
3. THE PROPERTY OWNER WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT TESTING AND INSPECTION REPORTS FOR
THE BACKFLOW PREVENTION ASSEMBLY. THE REPORTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO MRW ANNUALLY OR AS
OFTEN AS NECESSARY.
4. THE PROPERTY OWNER MUST SIGN AN AGREEMENT PREPARED BY MRW. THE AGREEMENT WILL
SPECIFY THAT MRW HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY AND LEGAL ACCESS TO INSPECT THE INDIVIDUAL HOME
BOOSTER PUMP INSTALLATION. MRW WILL VERIFY COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIRED CONDITIONS AND
ASSESS THE CROSS CONNECTION HAZARD ANNUALLY. THIS AGREEMENT SHALL ALLOW MRW TO
TERMINATE THE SERVICE IF THE INDIVIDUAL HOME BOOSTER PUMP AND INTERIM TANK INSTALLATION
ARE NOT MAINTAINED ADEQUATELY OR POSE A HAZARD TO THE WATER SYSTEM.
5. THE PROPERTY OWNER WILL BE REQUIRED TO RECORD A FORMAL NOTICE OF THE INDIVIDUAL
BOOSTER PUMP AND INTERIM TANK INSTALLATION WITH THE PROPERTY DEED AT THE SUMMIT COUNTY
RECORDER'S OFFICE. THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE TRANSFERRED TO SUBSEQUENT PROPERTY
OWNERS IN THE EVENT THE HOME IS SOLD.
6. FIRE FLOW TO BE PROVIDED BY MAIN WATERLINE HYDRANT PROVIDING 1500 GPM AT A
MINIMUM OF 20 PSI RESIDUAL.
UTAH DIVISION OF DRINKING WATER REQUIREMENTS:
1. INTERIM WATER TANKS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO SANITARY SURVEY INSPECTION BY THE DIVISION OF
DRINKING WATER.
