Subject: SSO in Salt Lake City June 26,2025
Jennifer Robinson,
On June 26,2025 at approximately 11:OO am I received a call from SLCDPU's contractor notifying SLCDPU of water
surcharging out a maintenance access hole. The contractor working onsite reported the spill at the downstream
maintenance access hole ofthe project. SLCDPU staff responded and found a sewer ball, or bypass plug, from the
project was lodged in the access hole. SLCDPU staff removed the loose plug and restored sewer flow to the sewer
system. The storm system was cleaned out by the contractor.
Upon arriving at the site, SLCDPU observed the flow had entered the gutters in the area. The spill was reported by
Murphy Pipeline (SLCDPU's Contractor) to the DEQ with report number 19723.
The estimate of the sewer overflow volume is as follows:
o Estimated outage time: 45 minutes
. Estimated overflow up to 13,000 Gallons
Photographs and work orders are available on request. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Steven Terry
