Box 144880 Salt Lake City, UT 84114-4880 Subject: Utah Radioactive Material License (RML) UT2300249: Relocation of Soil Station S-24 Notification Dear Mr. Hansen: EnergySolutions hereby submits a minimum 7-calendar day notification for the relocation of Soil Station S-24 as required by Radioactive Material License (RML) UT2300249 - Environmental Monitoring Plan (EMP) Part 5.4.1. As detailed in submittal CD-2025-079 (April 22, 2025) and approved by the Division on May 8, 2025 (DRC-2025-001399), construction of the 2024 Evaporation Pond will require relocation of Soil Station S-24. EnergySolutions typically obtains annual fence line soil station samples each June and intends to obtain a soil sample from S-24 prior to relocating it directly East of the future Restricted Area fence line boundary and access road. 2024 Evaporation Pond construction is anticipated to begin in early July 2025. The relocated soil station will be protected during construction activities. Upon re-establishment of the S-24 soil station and prior to construction of the 2024 Evaporation Pond, EnergySolutions will obtain a baseline soil sample and then proceed with routine annual sampling as required by the EMP Part 5.4.2.
