1 Purpose
1.1 This work instruction is to document the process of developing, reviewing and
revising Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
2 JHA Development
2.1 JHA Development priority shall be given to new or changing jobs/tasks or
jobs/tasks with the greatest risk of injury or illness.
2.2 Alliant JHA System, the Supervisors Guide to Job Hazard Analysis (ES-SH-PR-
101-R1), and Subject Matter Expert (SME’s) may be used to facilitate the
development of site Job Hazard Analysis.
2.3 JHA Development shall include an initial evaluation of the task, step by step hazard
evaluation, development of control measures, and JHA approval and training of
affected Clive Facility personnel.
3 JHA Review
3.1 JHAs shall be reviewed by responsible managers and front-line workers at least
annually, in accordance with ES-SH-PR-101.
3.2 JHA reviews will be conducted utilizing the Learning Management System (LMS)
and revisions shall be documented through the Alliant JHA System.
3.3 If any concerns are brought to attention during the JHA review and cannot be
resolved with the current JHA process. The JHA will need to go through a revision.
3.4 Following an incident or observation of non-compliance any applicable JHAs shall
be evaluated.
3.5 Responsible managers shall be provided by Safety and Health with a Monthly JHA
Review Report.

4 JHA Revision

4.1 JHAs shall be revised when:
4.1.1 New equipment, tools, chemicals or processes are introduced to the work
environment.
4.1.2 A change in job steps / tasks / process occurs.
4.1.3 The JHA expiration date of 1 year has been reached.
4.1.4 The review process indicates the need for a revision.
5 Documentation
5.1 JHA documents shall be managed by the Alliant JHA System.
5.2 Safety & Health shall review completed revisions in the Alliant JHA System.
5.3 JHA reviews shall be tracked in the Learning Management System (LMS).

This Work Instruction requires no attachments.
