Whey and dairy byproducts are not adequately being land applied, but are being dumped in localized areas of the farm creating strong odors and harboring insects. A significant amount of flies were observed and strong odors were present. The facility was secured by a locked gate and no land applications took place at the time of the inspection. Land applications take place twice a week by a 3rd party contractor and soils are disked once a week by CARNE I. Disking of the soils in some areas did not appear to be occurring. Due to the large presence of flies, Division representatives were not able to get out of the vehicle. Flies and odors became more prominent toward the back of the field. More areas of localized dumping were observed.
