Hi Dan,
Please see our non-compliance form attached to this email. I have also attached the comparison between if the samples
were swapped and the data we reported. Thanks for your guidance and understanding.

The permit limits the monthly average of cyanide discharge to a minimum value of 0.0148 mg/L
and in April the Payson Power Project measured an effluent cyanide average of 0.0170 mg/L
N/A
Payson Power Project operators check the cyanide of the incoming tertiary water from Payson City daily as over the last year, spikes of cyanide have come in the tertiary
water to the power plant. Sometimes these spikes come before or after the test is done and therefore make it into the plant water increasing the cyanide to out of
compliance levels. Additionally, on 4/20/21 plant operators believe they mislabeled the samples that were sent to Timpview Analytical Laboratories so the influent water
was tested as the effluent water and vice a versa. On this day plant personnel remember a high influent cyanide level and therefore running the plant on culinary water, so
the high effluent cyanide level did not make sense. If the samples were swapped, then the cyanide average in the effluent for the month of April would have been in
compliance at 0.0137 mg/L.
UAMPS will continue to test influent water cyanide levels and run on culinary water when tertiary cyanide levels are high. UAMPS will continue to adjust this testing to better predict cyanide spikes and therefore knowing when to avoid the tertiary water.
Payson water still has spikes of cyanide
