29A. System lacks required storage capacity due to fire demand
Rule: R309-510-8(1)(b)Rule requires a public water system to provide equalization storage volume (to meet
average day demands for indoor and irrigation water use), fire flow storage volume (if
equipped with fire hydrants for fire suppression or required by the local fire code
official), and emergency storage (if deemed appropriate by the water system or the
Director).
Notes:System is supplied by 6" water main from Well and Tank, with 2 commercial buildings
60 Cabins/yurts and 50 camp site connections. There are 3 Fire Hydrants. Looking at
the capacity calculation there isn't enough Fire storage to supply 1000 gallons per
minute for 1 hour until they get the Consecutive connection with Jordanelle SSD
approved. They are currently connected to the JSSD until the well casing is repaired,
and returned to service. Irrigation on the property is pumped from run-off collection
ponds and shallow wells, with two Secondary water tanks.
