Director April 3, 2024 Cody S Watkins Ash Grove Cement Company PO Box 38069 Leamington, UT 84638 Subject: Notice of Increased Monitoring for Ash Grove Cement Company, UTAH12039 Cody S Watkins: According to the Division of Drinking Water’s (the Division) records, the Secondary Well (listed as WS002 in the Divisions database) detected Arsenic at levels of 0.0121 mg/L on March 20, 2024. The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for Arsenic is 0.010 mg/L. As a result of this, this source is now subject to increased Arsenic monitoring in accordance with R309-205-5(1)(g) and R309-205-5(3)(g). The Secondary Well (WS002) is now required to be sampled each quarter for Arsenic. Compliance with the Arsenic standard will be based off the running annual average (RAA). This means that if the RAA for Arsenic is greater than 0.010 mg/L after one year of quarterly sampling, the system will be considered in violation of the Arsenic standard and public notice will be required. The current monitoring requirements for the Secondary Well (WS002) are given below. An updated monitoring schedule can be viewed anytime online at waterlink.utah.gov.
