Dear Rogers:
EnergySolutions has requested the evaluation of several projects that include the drilling of new wells. To facilitate the drilling of the new wellswhile the projects are still being
finalized the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control has reviewed the need and purpose of these wells.
After reviewing your response to our October 25, 2024, request for information concerning your East Side Rotary facility investigation, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation
Controlapprovals the drilling and sampling of the investigation wells. The Division has also reviewed your April 10, 2024 submittal to construct an evaporation pond and approves you
proposed locationsand drilling of the monitoring wells for the 2024 evaporation pond. The new evaporation pond monitoring wells will be compliance monitoring wells listed in the Ground
Water Quality Discharge Permit, UGW450005; therefore, they will need to compliance with Part II.L of the Permit.
