1.ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL COMPLY WITH UDOT, DWQ, APWA, IBC, AND THE GOVERNING
JURISDICTIONAL ENTITY(IES) STANDARD DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS UNLESS OTHERWISE
NOTED. WHERE A CONFLICT OCCURS THE MORE STRINGENT STANDARD APPLIES AS DETERMINED
BY UDOT. SEE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS SECTION ON THIS SHEET FOR MORE
INFORMATION. UDOT SPECIFICATIONS APPLY FOR ALL GENERAL CONDITIONS.
2.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP ON SITE AT ALL TIMES A COPY OF THE APPROVED AND STAMPED
CONSTRUCTION PLANS ON WHICH IS RECORDED THE ACTUAL LOCATIONS OF THE CONSTRUCTED
UTILITIES AND ANY OTHER UTILITIES ENCOUNTERED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THESE
LOCATIONS TO THE DESIGN ENGINEER.
3.THE CONTRACTOR(S) SHALL REMOVE ALL OBSTRUCTIONS, BOTH ABOVE AND BELOW GROUND, AS
REQUIRED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS. THIS SHALL INCLUDE
CLEARING AND GRUBBING WHICH CONSISTS OF CLEARING THE GROUND SURFACE OF ALL TREES,
STUMPS, BRUSH, UNDERGROWTH, HEDGES, HEAVY GROWTH OF GRASS OR WEEDS, FENCES,
STRUCTURES, DEBRIS, RUBBISH, AND SUCH MATERIAL WHICH IN THE OPINION OF THE ENGINEER,
IS UNSUITABLE FOR THE FOUNDATION OF PAVEMENTS. ALL MATERIAL NOT SUITABLE FOR FUTURE
USE ON SITE SHALL BE DISPOSED OF OFF SITE.
4.GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION OF WORK AND BETWEEN TRADES.
SUB-CONTRACTORS ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATION WITH OTHER TRADES AND
DISCIPLINES INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. IF ANY DISCREPANCIES ARE FOUND, THE
GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS TO NOTIFY ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY BEFORE COMMENCEMENT OF
WORK. NO EXTRA COSTS TO THE PROJECT WILL BE INCURRED DUE TO FAILURE OF GENERAL
CONTRACTOR AND/OR SUB-CONTRACTORS TO REVIEW CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND COORDINATE
WITH OTHER TRADES.
5.ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL SHALL CONFORM TO THE MOST RECENT VERSION OF THE MANUAL OF
UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AND LOCAL CITY STANDARDS.
6.THE CONTRACTOR MUST OBTAIN A PERMIT FROM THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT FOR ANY WALLS
GREATER THAN 3' IN HEIGHT CONSTRUCTED WITHIN THE PROJECT. ALL ROCK WALLS
CONSTRUCTED WITHIN THE PROJECT MUST BE CERTIFIED AND INSPECTED BY A LICENSED
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER PRIOR TO UDOT'S OR THE CITY'S FINAL ACCEPTANCE.
7.THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO GATHER ALL PERMITS FROM GOVERNING JURISDICTION(S).
8.IT IS THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY WCG IMMEDIATELY IF THERE ARE ANY
CONFLICTS BETWEEN THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE DRAINAGE PLANS AND ANY FIELD
OBSERVATIONS.
9.WCG IS THE ENGINEER AND/OR ENGINEER OF RECORD FOR THIS SET OF PLANS.
USE OF THE INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS INSTRUMENT FOR OTHER THAN THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE
FOR WHICH IT WAS INTENDED AND FOR OTHER THAN THE CLIENT FOR WHOM IT WAS PREPARED IS
FORBIDDEN UNLESS EXPRESSLY PERMITTED IN WRITING IN ADVANCE TO WCG. WCG SHALL HAVE NO
LIABILITY TO ANY USE OF THIS INFORMATION WITHOUT THEIR WRITTEN CONSENT.
LEGAL NOTICE TO CONTRACTOR
1.WCG HAS PREPARED GRADING PLANS AND SIZED DRAINAGE FACILITY SHOWN ON THIS PLAN TO
CONTAIN THE RUNOFF AS REQUIRED BY THE JURISDICTIONAL ENTITY. SEE PROJECT
SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS SECTION ON THIS SHEET FOR MORE INFORMATION.
2.IT IS THE PROPERTY OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN THE FINAL GRADING ON THEIR
PROPERTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DRAINAGE CONCEPT IDENTIFIED IN THE GRADING AND
DRAINAGE PLAN.
3.THE GRADING AND DRAINAGE PLANS DO NOT IDENTIFY THE CONSTRUCTION METHODS, EQUIPMENT,
PROCEDURES, AND OR SEQUENCING TO BE EMPLOYED BY THE CONTRACTOR. ALL GRADING
OPERATIONS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO SITE PREPARATION, SCARIFICATION, EXCAVATION,
OVER-EXCAVATION, PLACEMENT, OF FILLS, AND COMPACTION OF FILLS, SHALL BE PERFORMED BY
THE CONTRACTOR IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS
SECTION ON THIS SHEET.
4.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN ALL EXISTING DRAINAGE FACILITIES WITHIN THE
CONSTRUCTION AREA UNTIL THE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ARE IN PLACE AND FUNCTIONAL.
5.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SUITABLE METHODS & EQUIPMENT TO CONTROL DUST AND AIR
POLLUTION CAUSED BY CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO PROVIDE
SUITABLE MUD AND DIRT CONTAINMENT TO MAINTAIN THE WORK SITE, ACCESS ROADWAYS, AND
ADJACENT PROPERTIES IN A CLEAN CONDITION.
6.ALL EXCAVATION AND GRADING SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT REQUIREMENTS OF
THE JURISDICTIONAL ENTITIES AND UNIFORM BUILDING CODES.
7.PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION, AN EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL PLAN WILL BE SUBMITTED TO THE
APPROPRIATE JURISDICTION FOR APPROVAL.
GRADING & DRAINAGE NOTESGENERAL NOTES
POWER
1.ALL POWER CONNECTIONS AND DESIGN SHALL BE PERFORMED BY THE LOCAL ENERGY
SERVICES. SEE UTILITY CONTACTS SECTION ON THIS SHEET FOR MORE INFORMATION.
2.ANY WORK BEING PERFORMED AT THE REQUEST OF THE LOCAL ENERGY SERVICES SHALL BE
PERFORMED TO THE REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF SAID ENERGY SERVICE.
3.ANY ELECTRICAL DESIGN WORK REQUIRED SHALL BE PERFORMED BY A LICENSED ELECTRICAL
ENGINEER UNLESS OTHERWISE CONVEYED AS NOT REQUIRED BY THE LOCAL ENERGY
SERVICES.
4.ACCESS TO EXISTING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT MUST BE MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT THE
PROJECT.
5.CONTACT LOCAL ENERGY SERVICES FOR ANY REQUIRED CHANGES OR CONFLICTS WITH
EXISTING ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE.
6.CHANGES MADE TO EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE WILL BE DONE TO THE LOCAL ENERGY
SERVICES STANDARDS AND COMPLETED BY A PRE-QUALIFIED CONTRACTOR OR ENERGY
SERVICES.

WHICHEVER IS MORE STRINGENT, AND REPAIRED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
INLET PROTECTION DEVICES AND BARRIERS SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED IF THEY SHOW SIGNS OF UNDERMINING,
OR DETERIORATION.
ALL SEEDED AREAS SHALL BE CHECKED REGULARLY TO SEE THAT A GOOD STAND IS MAINTAINED. AREAS SHOULD BE
FERTILIZED, WATERED, AND RESEEDED AS NEEDED.
SILT FENCES SHALL BE REPAIRED TO THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITIONS IF DAMAGED. SEDIMENT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM
THE SILT FENCES WHEN IT REACHES ONE-HALF THE HEIGHT OF THE SILT FENCE.
THE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN A CONDITION WHICH WILL PREVENT TRACKING OR FLOW OF
MUD ONTO PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY. THIS MAY REQUIRE PERIODIC TOP DRESSING OF THE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCES AS
CONDITIONS DEMAND.
THE TEMPORARY PARKING AND STORAGE AREA SHALL BE KEPT IN GOOD CONDITION (SUITABLE FOR PARKING AND
STORAGE). THIS MAY REQUIRE PERIODIC TOP DRESSING OF THE TEMPORARY PARKING AS CONDITIONS DEMAND.
OUTLET STRUCTURES IN THE SEDIMENTATION BASINS SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN OPERATIONAL CONDITIONS AT ALL
TIMES. SEDIMENT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SEDIMENT BASINS OR TRAPS WHEN THE DESIGN CAPACITY HAS BEEN
REDUCED BY 50%.
IF THE STONES IN THE GRAVEL INLET SEDIMENT FILTERS BECOME CLOGGED WITH SEDIMENT, THE STONES MUST BE
PULLED AWAY, CLEANED AND REPLACED.
THE EMBANKMENT OF THE SEDIMENTATION BASIN SHALL BE CHECKED REGULARLY TO ENSURE THAT IT IS
STRUCTURALLY SOUND AND HAS NOT BEEN DAMAGED BY EROSION OR CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT.
ALL TEMPORARY SEDIMENT TRAP AND SEDIMENTATION BASIN STRUCTURES SHALL BE CHECKED DAILY TO ENSURE

POLYVINYL CHLORIDE WATERSTOPS:
POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) WATERSTOPS SHALL BE MANUFACTURED BY THE EXTRUSION PROCESS FROM AN ELASTOMERIC
PLASTIC COMPOUND, THE BASIC RESIN OF WHICH SHALL BE PVC. THE COMPOUND SHALL CONTAIN ANY ADDITIONAL RESINS,
PLASTICIZERS, STABILIZERS, OR OTHER MATERIALS NEEDED TO ENSURE THAT, WHEN THE MATERIAL IS COMPOUNDED, IT
WILL MEET THE PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS GIVEN IN THIS SPECIFICATION. NO RECLAIMED PVC OR OTHER MATERIAL
SHALL BE USED.
THE MATERIAL SHALL COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS WHEN TESTED UNDER THE INDICATED
