HomeMy WebLinkAboutDDW-2024-007078Hello Paul, Thank you for your patience as we have tracked down the following items. I have included responses to your previous email below. Revised as-built drawings are also attached to this email. 1. "For the home booster pump, since I assume that the water system owner lives in the Cliff House, then this home booster pump can actually be operated as a facility that is part of the water system, assuming that is the case. Do you know how and where it is installed (outside the house, in the basement, etc). If that is not the case, then an exception will need to be requested for this potential cross connection. I have attached the items that need to be submitted for a home booster pump exception." a. The Cliff House is a nightly rental and is managed and inspected by the system operator daily. The house/property is owned by the Rex family. The booster pump is in the laundry room and is located high on a shelf. The main water line into the house goes directly to the booster pump before anything else. Slot Canyons Inn has provided a sketch of how the booster is connected, which is attached as Image No. 1. 2. "Can you provide me with a copy of the submersible pump make and model and pump curve for the well pump, especially since it is providing pressure to the whole system." a. The submersible pump is a Flint & Walling Model No. 4F55S50. A picture of the pump is attached as Image No. 5. Images No. 6 and No. 7 are the pump curve and performance chart, respectively. Here is the website link to the pump: https://www.flintandwalling.com/product/4-cast-iron-captain-plus-series/ 3. "You have said that the smooth nosed sample tap, check valve, and raising up the well head casing to a minimum of 18 inches above grade are being worked on. I will need to see photos that this has been completed and shown in an as-built drawing, as opposed to just showing those items as proposed to be installed." a. Yes, these items have been added to the system. Pictures of these items are attached to this email as Images No. 2 , No. 3, and No. 4. The as-built drawings have been updated as well and are also attached to this email. 4. "You mention that some form of backup power will be purchased or installed, I am just wondering what the water system has or will do in that regards." a. The system will have a backup propane generator. It will power the pump and water softeners. The generator is a Cummins RS20AC Generator. (Link: https://www.electricgeneratorsdirect.com/Cummins-Power-Generation- C20N6HC-Standby-Generator/p73348.html) 5. "A storage exception request letter must be submitted. Along with an operating permit for the water system, any exceptions needed will also be addressed in that letter." a. A storage exception request letter will be sent to you by Slot Canyons Inn. 6. "Once the Division has a revised Source Protection Plan, then any exceptions needed there along with an exception for the reduced surface seal can also be addressed (I assume that Bowen Collins is working on this end of things)." a. Bowen Collins is handling this. 1/30/24, 8:01 AM State of Utah Mail - Slot Canyons Inn Remaining Items https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=f3bcb897f8&view=pt&search=all&permmsgid=msg-f:1787271800774113650&simpl=msg-f:1787271800774113650 1/1 J. Shields" <dshields@sunrise-eng.com> Good morning, Paul Here are some of my responses to your quesons, I will have Adam fill you in with the other informaon. 1. The Cliff House Booster is a ¾ HP Grundfos Scala2 3-45-1 115V 60HZ 98562818 with a max flow rate of 21 gpm. (Link:https://www.freshwatersystems.com/products/grundfos-scala2-3-45-1-115v-60-hz-98562818? variant=40095661097144). The pump is pulling from the system. The hand drawn sketch shows the booster pump being fed by the main line (coming from the well pump and HD tanks). We are not aware of any pressure tank for the booster or a backup on site. 2. In the report we state that there are three 50-gallon pressure tanks and that each pressure tank is esmated to contribute up to 30-gallons of pressurized storage. 3. It does appear that the smooth nosed sample tap is on the downstream side of the check valve, but if the ball valve to the pressure tanks is closed, a clean source sample may be easily taken from the sample tap. Adam, could you please help us with some of Paul's quesons? Cliff House booster - is there a pressure gauge and do you have a backup for this booster pump if it were to go out? Pressure Tanks - what is the make and model of the pressure tanks? Well Casing - a new image of the height of the well casing, maybe with a tape measure held to it for reference. Please let me know if you have any other questions, thank you. Kyler LaRose From: J.
