They asked me to send you an update on the status of the progress of the project and the compliance with the EWA and Reasonable steps as the project progresses. The project is currently under construction. Referring to the Reasonable Steps attached. 1. We have not accessed any ground water for drinking, bathing, irrigation or any other uses. The current project is a slab on grade construction product and does not have any basements or space below grade. 2. The Excavator LL&L, has an Osha Hazwoper certification #240837 during the entire excavation and installation of utilities. Both the Foreman Duanne Laasia and Juan Navarro have been onsite and thoroughly involved in the excavation and installation of the footing, foundation, and horizontal utility work. They have been very careful and observant in identifying potentially concerning soils. They have not found or identified any hazardous waste or contaminated soils. See the attached Osha Hazwoper certificate. All excavation was completed prior to the recent certificate expiration. We have kept all the excess soils onsite during the excavation. This work includes footing and foundation site work. The excess soils have been moved from West to East as the excavation work has progressed in that direction. We are having those retained soils tested by Wasatch Enviromental. After consulting with Wasatch Enviromental and if they do not identify any contaminated soil we will make plans to remove the excess soil from the site. See the attached Field reports. 3. The environmentally rated vapor barrier is installed beneath each concrete slab of both residential and commercial units. The material was installed in between the gravel and below the rebar. Blake Downey with Wasatch has recommended that we install vented fans to remove the air below the slab. This work is just now beginning. Attached are pictures of the installation of the vapor barrier. 4. This email along with the communication with Wasatch Environmental demonstrate our intentions to continue to coordinate with the DERR and the full compliance of the EWA and Reasonable Steps on this project. The original forms are attached. Included are additional Field reports on the projects continued progress. 5. Since before we purchased the property we have continued to inform the general contractors, the sub contractors, and inspectors that appropriate safety measures including those from the Osha Hazwoper certified team have been shared and followed. No contaminated soils have been found. We have installed the environmentally approved vapor barrier to stop continued releases and prevent future releases. We have carefully and proactively worked to maintain the safety of all parties involved. The construction is slab on grade with minimal below grade work.
