Subject: Notice of Source Deactivation for Jordanelle SSD; UTAH26086 Max Covey:
On December 30, 2024, Wade Webster notified the Division of Drinking Water (the Division) that the following sources were inactive for the entirety of 2024.
• Tuhaye Well #1 (Identified as WS004) To avoid issuing yearly monitoring violations, the source listed above were changed from an “Active” status in the Division’s database to an “Inactive” status.
With this change, Tuhaye Well #1 (WS004)is not currently allowed to be utilized as a source of drinking water until it has been formally reactivated. In most cases the source reactivation process involves only collecting the outstanding samples that were missed during the period of inactivity. The reactivation process does not require that systems
obtain new operating permits. Inactive facilities which are plumbed into the water system can pose
a risk to public health if not maintained properly. Per Division policy, all inactive facilities are inspected during water systems triannual sanitary survey. As of January 30, 2025, the following samples are required to be collected and reviewed by the
Division prior to placing the source back online. It is strongly recommended that the system run the
source to waste for an adequate amount of time prior to sampling to ensure that the samples are representative of the aquifer.
