Anytime visible emissions are detected, the damaged bags are replaced within 24 hours. The kiln is shut down approximately
1.5 - 2.0 hours before replacing the bags. It takes approximately 45 minutes for the existing feed to run through the kiln and
another 45 minutes for the kiln to cool. Startup takes anFother 1.5 - 2.0 hours. Feed is not reintroduced to the kiln until after
the baghouse has been brought back online.
Because the opacity is monitored daily and because the baghouse is always repaired within 24 hours of observing any visible
emissions, the opacity does not approach l0 o . A full Method 9 observation is conducted within 24 hours of observing visible
emissions.
