The Indian Hollow Creek Water System will be located
approximately 2.5 road miles to the northwest of Kamas, Utah. The
system will consist of a new 135 gpm well and pump station which will
pump through a dedicated 4" supply line to a new 250,000 gallon
AWWA bolted steel tank. The tank is sized to provide 70,000 gallons of
potable and irrigation storage and 180,000 gallons of fire flow (1,500
gpm for 2 hours). From the tank and its valve vault, water will be
delivered to the distribution system via 1662 LF of 16-inch transmission
line. The distribution system will consist of 4250 LF of 12-inch and 750
LF 8-inch piping with fire hydrants at 500 ft. max spacing with blow offs
at the ends of the cul-de-sacs. A 300 gpm rated, VFD driven booster
pump station in parallel with a 12-inch check valve will provide peak
instantaneous potable and outdoor water with a minimum of 75 psi at
the highest house during peak instantaneous demand condition (281
gpm) . Fire flow plus peak day flows (1600 gpm) will be provided thru
the12-inch check valve, providing 21 psi or more to all points of
connection on the system by gravity, no pumping required.
Well No. 2 is being added act as a backup redundant supply to well
No.1 and also to help supply irrigation water to some of the open spaces
around the subdivision. Well No. 2 is expected to produce 100 gpm.
