SUMMARY:
The required 30-day public comment period for the Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for The Paxton
VCP commenced on April 11, 2025 and concluded on May 11, 2025. The DERR received no
public comments and subsequently accepted the RAP on May 13, 2025. This was the first site
visit for remedial action at the site. When the DERR arrived on-site, the contractor had finished
monitoring well abandonment, which was overseen by a Geosyntec Environmental Professional.
Geosyntec confirmed that all wells were abandoned according to the approved workplan,
including MW-6 which could not be found during the site characterization sampling event in
2024. DERR and Geosyntec walked the site in preparation for excavation work scheduled for the
following week. A 55-gallon drum is located on the site and is labeled as Investigative Derived
Waste (IDW) for Geosyntec. No additional groundwater samples under the scope of the RAP
were taken before the monitoring wells were abandoned.
