The Division issued Plan Approval for drilling this well on February 27, 2023, and Plan Approval for equipping this well on August 23, 2023. Division staff conducted an onsite inspection of this project on April 9, 2025. Our understanding of the project is that Well #2 is equipped with a Grundfos 62S75-17 (7.5 HP) 230 V 3-phase motor with a pump shroud that is set to 60 gallons per minute (gpm) at 350 feet of head. The well is identified as WS002 in the Division’s database. The well pumps water from the well via a pitless adapter to the pump house with a 40-gallon Hydropneumatic Tank with a pressure gauge, pressure switch, drain valve, and pressure relief valve. The hydropneumatic tank is identified as HD001 in the Division’s database. Also, the pump house water treatment facilities have been installed. These treatment facilities were granted an operating permit on May 5, 2025. We have received the following information for Well #2, (WS002), Hydropneumatic Tank (HD001); Utah Raptor State Park: Design engineer’s statement of conformance with approval conditions. Documentation of valid water right. Evidence of O&M manual delivery. As-built or record drawings. Recorded land use agreements. Satisfactory bacteriological results as evidence of proper disinfection and flushing. We have determined that all conditions of operating permit issuance have been met. On this basis, an Operating Permit for Well #2, (WS002), Hydropneumatic Tank (HD001); Utah Raptor State Park is hereby issued as constituted by this letter. You may now place Well #2, (WS002), Hydropneumatic Tank (HD001) in service in your water system. Please maintain a copy of this letter with your permanent records for future reference. The equipped well pump capacity of Well #2 (WS002) is 60 gallons per minute (gpm). The safe yield of Well #2 (WS002) is rated at 40 gpm, which is calculated based on two-thirds of the constant-rate aquifer drawdown test results at 60 gpm. The safe yield of 40 gpm is the basis for determining the maximum number of connections that Well #2 (WS002) can serve. Drinking Water Source Protection Requirement The Division has also reviewed the Drinking Water Source Protection (DWSP) plan for this source submitted by your consultant on May 5, 2023. The Division concurs with this report. This report must be updated as often as necessary to ensure it shows current conditions in the DWSP zones and management areas. The first updated DWSP plan is due by December 31, 2028, with subsequent updates required every six years thereafter. Please contact Noah Zorsky, P.G., at (385) 707-7317 or at nzorsky@utah.gov if you have questions or concerns about your DWSP plan or updated DWSP plans. Source Chemical Monitoring Requirements The monitoring requirements associated with this well have been assigned to the Courthouse Wash Well Iron Removal Water Treatment Plant (identified as TP001). These monitoring requirements can be viewed anytime online at waterlink.utah.gov under the water monitoring report. Please contact David Kruse at dbkruse@utah.gov or 385-566-7789 with questions regarding the source chemical monitoring requirements for this water system.
